Southern Roasted Cabbage Steaks with Garlic Bacon Butter

🥣 Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Prep & Preheat: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil, or grease a large baking dish. 🖼️
  2. Slice the Cabbage: Remove outer damaged leaves from the cabbage. Place cabbage stem-side down on a cutting board and cut into 3/4-inch to 1-inch thick rounds, keeping the core attached to hold the slices together. Lay rounds flat on the prepared baking sheet. 🥬🔪
  3. Make Garlic Bacon Butter: In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup melted butter, 2 tbsp reserved warm bacon grease, minced garlic, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. 🧄🧈
  4. Season & Drizzle: Brush or pour half of the warm garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of each cabbage steak. Sprinkle half of the crumbled bacon bits over the tops. 🥄🥓
  5. Roast to Perfection: Roast in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, until the centers are fork-tender and the outer edges are golden-brown and crispy! ⏲️
  6. Drizzle & Serve: Remove from oven. Drizzle with the remaining warm garlic bacon butter and top with the remaining crispy bacon bits and fresh parsley. Serve hot! 🍽️✨
