The “Recipe” for Deep Cleaning
Since vinegar and baking soda (which mostly just fizz without much cleaning power) haven’t worked, you need something that can penetrate the pores or lift the scale.
Method 1: The Magic Eraser (Best for Surface Scale)
A melamine sponge (like a Magic Eraser) is a micro-abrasive. It works like extremely fine sandpaper to buff away the top layer of stained plastic.
- How to do it: Dampen the sponge and scrub the stained areas with firm, circular motions. Rinse with plain water.
Method 2: Cream of Tartar Paste (The Natural “Bleach”)
If you want to avoid harsh chemicals, Cream of Tartar is an acid that works wonders on yellowing plastic.
- The Mix: Make a thick paste using 2 tablespoons of Cream of Tartar and a few drops of lemon juice.
- The Process: Apply the paste to the stains and let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Scrub with a non-scratch pad and rinse.
