Everybody loves papaya
📝 Step-by-Step Instructions
Option 1: Fresh Papaya Seed Vinaigrette 🥗
- Harvest & Rinse:
- Scoop the fresh seeds out from a ripe papaya using a spoon.
- Place seeds in a fine mesh strainer and rinse under cool water, gently rubbing them between your hands to remove the gelatinous coating. 🍈
- Blend Ingredients:
- Combine the fresh papaya seeds, extra virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar, raw honey, minced shallot, Dijon mustard, and sea salt in a small blender or food processor.
- Purée to Perfection:
- Blend on high speed for 30 to 45 seconds until smooth. The seeds will crush into small, specks of peppery crunch, giving the dressing a beautiful, bold texture!
- Drizzle & Enjoy:
- Pour over fresh green salads, grilled chicken, grain bowls, or roasted vegetables! 😋
Option 2: Dried “Pepper” Spice Substitute 🧂
- Dehydrate the Seeds:
- Spread washed papaya seeds in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet or paper towel.
- Air-dry at room temperature for 3–4 days, or bake in an oven at 150°F (65°C) for 2 to 3 hours until completely dry and hard.
- Grind & Store:
- Transfer dried seeds to a pepper grinder or mortar and pestle.
- Crack over eggs, soups, grilled meats, and roasted veggies as a peppery, digestive-boosting spice substitute! 🍳🥩
