SLOW COOKER GLAZED HAM WITH BROWN SUGAR AND PINEAPPLE
📝 Step-by-Step Instructions
- Prep the Ham:
- Unwrap the ham and discard any plastic disk covering the bone.
- Place the spiral-sliced ham cut-side down into the insert of a 6-quart or larger slow cooker. (If your ham is a bit too large, you can trim a slice off the bottom or cover the crock pot top tightly with foil before putting on the lid!) 🍖
- Arrange the Pineapple Slices:
- Drain the canned pineapple slices, reserving ½ cup of the juice.
- Arrange pineapple slices around the sides of the ham and tuck a few slices on top.
- Use whole cloves or toothpicks to secure the pineapple rings onto the ham if desired. 🍍
- Whisk the Glaze:
- In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and reserved pineapple juice.
- Whisk thoroughly until the brown sugar dissolves into a thick syrup. 🥣
- Pour & Slow Cook:
- Pour the sweet brown sugar mixture evenly over the top of the ham and pineapple slices, making sure the glaze gets into the spiral cuts. 🍯
- Cover with the lid and cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours (basting with pan juices halfway through) until the ham is heated through and reaches an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C). ⏲️
- Broil for a Caramelized Crust (Optional Step):
- Carefully transfer the warm ham and pineapple slices to a rimmed baking sheet.
- Spoon extra juices from the crock pot over the ham and broil in the oven on HIGH for 3 to 5 minutes until the edges caramelize and become crisp and bubbly! 🔥
- Carve & Serve:
- Transfer to a platter, spoon remaining warm pan glaze over top, and slice along the bone to serve warm! 😋
